How do I become a Member?
The Greater Rome Board has 4 different memberships: Designated REALTOR® (an individual that qualifies for REALTOR® membership and is a Principal, Partner, Corporate Officer, or Branch Manager of a Real Estate firm), REALTOR® (person holding an active real estate or appraisal license), REALTOR Emeritus® (40+ years of REALTOR® membership and completed one year of NAR service) and Affiliate (non-licensed individual). To become a member, you will need to complete an application and pay the appropriate membership fees. Additionally, REALTORS® must complete (3) new member training requirements within 6 months. For more information, click here.

Please note: All applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. Upon completion of your application and provisional membership, you will receive a welcome email that contains your account login, member M1 number (NRDS ID), instructions on retrieving your receipt, and an explanation of new member training requirements (if applicable). REALTOR® type members will use their active membership ID number provided in the welcome email to access member benefits along with GAR forms.

MEMBERSHIP TYPES & FEES
To join the association, you will need to pay the prorated amount of your membership fees and an application fee. The Greater Rome Board's, GAR's and NAR's fiscal cycles run on a calendar year, January 1 - December 31.
New Designated REALTOR® members will pay a $100 application fee in addition to the annual fee listed below.
New REALTOR® members will pay a $25 application fee in addition to the annual fee listed below.
Designated REALTOR®

A DESIGNATED REALTOR® is an an individual that qualifies for REALTOR® membership and is also a Principal, Partner, Corporate Officer, or Branch Manager of a firm.
There is only one DESIGNATED REALTOR® per real estate firm.
REALTORS® also hold membership with the Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).

An Affiliate is an individual who does not hold an active real estate license, but has interests in the real estate profession.
Affiliates also hold membership with the Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR).
Affiliate Only members may participate in all Greater Rome REALTORS® programs but do not receive sponsorship recognition.

Steps to Becoming a REALTOR® Member

SUBMIT a completed application with the appropriate membership fee.

ATTEND New Member Orientation within the first six months of membership.

COMPLETE a NAR-approved Code of Ethics training course within the first six months of membership.

COMPLETE a NAR-approved Fair Housing / Anti-Bias training course within the first six months of membership.

NOTIFY US with proof of your Code of Ethics and Fair Housing training completions if the courses were not completed through the Association or NAR.
Becoming a REALTOR®
A real estate agent is a REALTOR® when he or she becomes a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS®, The Voice for Real Estate, the world's largest professional association. The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS® who subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics and commits to Fair Housing. When you join a local REALTOR® association, you automatically become a member of that association's state association and the National Association of REALTORS®.

It is important for all the Board's members to review their current usage of the term and make sure that it is done in a proper manner and is not in violation of the trademark.
