Calling all members with ties to their community government! Members of the Governmental Affairs & RPAC Committee combine their connections to greater Rome community governments to give the Board a voice in local policy issues that impact our industry. This committee shapes the formulation of local ordinances and policy through professional lobbying, grassroots advocacy, and supporting the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates for public office. Committee members also review legislation and recommend political action to protect the interests of REALTORS®, our industry, and our clients.
Funds from the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) are distributed to candidates for local governments based on the recommendations of this committee. Committee members work also with our real estate coalition partners to build awareness of the principles and best practices of Smart Growth, and to promote their use in land use and development policy throughout the greater Rome area.
